Why I Write These “Creative Wonderings”

These writings began as a way for me to slow down and sit a little longer in the stories of Scripture. When I imagine what the people in those moments might have been feeling or thinking, it helps me remember that they were real, with emotions, doubts, hopes, and histories.

Sometimes I picture what they saw in their lifetime, and other times I imagine how they might see it now with heaven eyes, from their place among the cloud of witnesses Hebrews speaks of. It’s a practice that brings the story closer for me, helping me move from simply reading the text to resting in it.

These pieces are not meant to replace Scripture, but to draw me (and maybe you, too) deeper into it, to explore what we know from the Word, from history, and from the beauty of God’s unfolding story. It’s my way of lingering in the truth a little longer until it feels personal, alive, and near.
